Education & Qualifications

I complement our team and clients by adding strong project and portfolio management skills to over 15 years experience in commercial law.  I have experience with a broad range of clients, industries and cultures. After graduation, I joined Anderson Lloyd where I gained invaluable exposure to a range of high quality commercial and resource management law. During 2004 I lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I observed a completely different legal culture through involvement with the firm Richardson & Asociados. From 2005 to 2011, I was an Associate at Anderson Lloyd, when I developed a focus on property law, including leasing portfolios, subdivisions, overseas investments in New Zealand and large scale property developments. After that I moved to Nairobi, Kenya, where I provided legal support for Non-Governmental Organisations .  When I returned to  New Zealand, I joined Goldsmith Law as an Associate.  I am now Contracts Manager at Goldsmith Law, primarily assisting with management of commercial transactions and and insolvency project work, and mix business opportunities with study and a family life.

Legal Practice History

I grew up on the ‘shop floor’ of a rural law firm, Sumpter Moore – raiding the chocolate biscuits reserved for clients while waiting for Dad when I missed the school bus, then meandering rather than running errands during holidays home from boarding school. As a student I progressed to office junior at Ross Dowling Marquet Griffin where I learnt the mechanics of a law office and the real importance of support staff.

After graduation from the University of Otago (2000), I joined Anderson Lloyd where I gained invaluable exposure to a range of high quality commercial and resource management law. During 2004 I lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I observed a completely different legal culture through involvement with the firm Richardson & Asociados. From 2005 to 2011, I was an Associate at Anderson Lloyd, when I developed a focus on land-related matters, including leasing portfolios, subdivisions, overseas investments in New Zealand and large scale property developments. After moving to Nairobi, Kenya, I provided legal support for Non-Governmental Organisations in 2012, adding an understanding of societal instability, corruption and ineffective bureaucracies to my resume.

Personal / Background

Some may say I am talkative and finicky, I prefer to describe myself as being personable and thorough. What I can say is that I value relationships, frank and open communication. I pride myself on being pragmatic, proactive and a team player.

I am married to Mike, a professional cricket coach, and have two daughters, Little Miss Holly and Cheeky Charlie. I enjoy the proverbial wine and socialising, a spot of running and a ‘book club’ with the Kindy Mums. I have lost the art of piano playing (despite reaching Grade 8) but still enjoy singing. I am interested in other cultures and have a basic knowledge of French, German and Spanish plus the odd word of Kiswahili.
